The Morning Coho Search

  1. I am planning on heading to Idaho for several weeks of trout fishing and meet some friends over there. I was hoping to provide my friends a fresh salmon dinner. I explored a number of new beach haunts about a week ago, since I tend to like to avoid the crowds. I thought I had a hot tip from a couple of friends yesterday, so I went there this morning to check it out after sleeping in until 6 am. I got to the beach at 8 am. Fished for awhile and saw no coho. So, I headed out wondering where I might try. I finally caved in and went to one of the new spots I had checked out early and, which, looked really "fishy". I didn't get there until about 9:30 am this morning. I immediately hooked into a number of cutthroat and perhaps a follow from a salmon or two. I tied into a nice cutthroat of I think near 19 inches, which was a solid beauty. I then hooked up with a nice male coho. It made my morning and I am set to bring it to Idaho for a barbeque with my trout fishing bums there. I will miss the coho fishing while gone the next 2-3 weeks! You lucky dogs! They are around to be had. Good luck you all! It was a joy fishing all ALONE, with the new beach to myself this morning!!! Ya gotta love it.

  2. Way to go Larry. Good job finding some fish! I fished a solid 5 hours this morning and had nothing more than a quick tug.. Not much action where I was.
  3. Nice fish Larry!
  4. Way to go Larry! That is a very nice silver buck and the cutthroat was a beauty too. It must have been even more special to have been the only guy on your newly discovered "secret" beach. While you're in Idaho fishing for trout we'll keep those big coho busy.

  5. and based on how things have been going, there is a good chance there will be some still around when you return. Have fun over in IdaHo Larry.
