1st and second attempts below. Going to cut these up and start over. Just guessing, but I think I’ll tie higher in the shank. It just looks so meth whore nasty…I gotta figure it out.

Just what I need to add to my woes. Not only has my leader doubled over at the knot but the egg strands have inexplicably compounded the problem exponentially. I guess the name is apt given the expletives that would escape me upon fouling this sucker with my fly line when I lazily drop my rod tip during a cast... :clown:

I’m thinking about the first time I bash these into the rocks behind me, Jim. Got those glass beads at a shop close by in Mountlake Terrace. After her greeting, the sales lady says, You a fisherman? I got all upset and said, “What, I don’t look like a bead guy?” She then promptly showed the scraps of what might pass for eggs. You bastards got to stay out of my bead shop! This is just a prototype for a bobber. These things are heavy and it has to balance under the float. I want to float that shrimp through the salt too. Right off the end of a skagit head. Torda says I’m overthinking it. Not really, just something I do to keep from going nuts until I get on the water Monday. Then more, the next couple days before I fish the Hoh. I think about it all the time. Steelheading. That’s not crazy is it? I’ve just taken nymphing to the extreme, that’s all. And it rubs the lotion on its skin.

If you want some to look at my fly, go to Puget Sound fly co. and buy a few. I will have a few dozen for the OP bash. With Forks prices, they will be spendy!

Nice. I'm going to keep trying fer kicks and gigles though. I want to at least try the one egg method you posted. All your shit is great work! I just have a system that will fly 100 feet or so, land right, then spool out another 50 to 100 feet. Fuck it, I can swing later. I can't get the Hoh in a week out of my fucking head!

That's what I'm thinking, down and dirty and looking like it just got ripped out of the guts of another fish.

You friggin gear guys in flyfisherman's clothes. You'll all burn in hell. How dare you bastardize flyfishing like this.:rofl:

What's sad, I guess you could say, I've tied up ones similar to this. But only rarely fished it with a fly, used it on a gear rod in no bait areas. But did work well flyfishing. I tie up a few jigs like that as well, just with a bead trailing behind strung up on heavy wire or stiff line to seem like a loose egg (since it's on a jig it drifts different then a swung fly).

Love that shrimp. If it's ok, I may tie a few of those up. Love the looks of that one.

Now this tie was really easy. The beads move out of the way between the point and shank.

Hey Chris, never mind about letting me see your bead sack. I found this next to the poly yarn I'd been looking for to tie in this FLY! Forgot it cuz it was was a tube. I'm gonna get filthy now. Only a week left to tie.

That is the older version on a tube. Those work well in Alaska. The new one is on a hook with different materials.

Bump!! Anyone ever fish these for Kings??? I am thinking the springers coming in soon!? I made my first attempt at this fly tonight. I was just wondering if anyone had tried 'nymphing' these for the kings. Seems like it would work, and it would be fun to hook one!

    Cheers,
    Dinker

I don't know, but you lose a lot when fished right.

I was thinking that one would lose a lot too and they took me quite a while to tie too...I guess I'll play around with it and see if I can come up with a faster tie. Did you get a chance to fish the one's you tied Matt?
