The Wrong Train

  1. Here's an example of mistaken identity.

    I thought I was tying a Freight Train. This is my primary dark pattern for both SRC and steelhead. Boy was I surprised when one day I discovered I hadn't been tying a Freight Train.

    The recipe calls for a orange,red and black body with a white calf tail wing. Somewhere along the way, I thought the pattern was tied with a yellow, red and black body with an arctic fox wing.

    Dang. All that time folks asked what I used to catch the steelhead or SRC, I told them a Freight Train.
    It wasn't. So I call this pattern The Wrong Train. It does work so I plan to use it as-is... Freight Train or not.
