Never too late to fish Phil! If it's a cold morning, I wait until the air/water temp rises a bit to wake up the bugs and fish (and me). I'd say the latest to fish Pass is if it's frozen over!

I fished it last weekend and although it was a bit slow for me (landed 10 and Nick in the boat with me landed 11), I blame most of that on being entirely too caught up in the conversation versus caught up in the catching. There was one person there who dialed something in for awhile, I couldn't exactly see what they were doing, but they were out in 10 to 14 feet of water throwing some sort of sinking line and retrieving (looked like it anyway) fairly quick.

Two of my best days ever have come in Winter at Pass. Fish still eat and to be honest Winter time can actually concentrate the fish better because the food sources are fewer and further between.

    Good luck.

Fishable but it's making the transition from fall-like to winter-like action as we speak. No numbness in the toes yet but it's getting close. Minnows and all that fun against shore are disappearing pretty fast. It's taking more work now, allow some time and look for the sweet spot in the day (dusk isn't great at the moment).

What Ira said about concentrating. It's getting more feast/famine out there and mine have been coming in waves last couple times out.

Dusk was actually pretty good and we saw some folks with head lamps out after we left past dark.

Ya the last hour or so before dark was our best action.

    Love Pass over the winter!

Damn I almost forgot... Ira did get a brown. That coupled with the multiple assist points he racked up easily put him ahead for the day! Course he was doing a fine job of distracting me with cinnamon whiskey and conversation.

It's never to late to fish lakes that are open.... What is the worst that can happen? I hit Pass a couple of years back when there was only a couple of acres of open water of the highway (iced over). Fishing sucked but I was fishing.

Hey Steve, I gave my "new" Monty Redwing 8-1/2 (first owner bought it Feb 7, 1944) its first workout last Sat evening at Pass. Caught a few, but had some tippet that must have also been made in 1944 the way it broke off on 3 fish. Ron

Stillwater in Ellensburg is frozen as of this morning :(

It's the Yakima, Rocky Ford, or the tying bench for the next couple months. Getting excited for the Winter Lake 3 Swap . . .

Seen manner of yaks on Pass. Can't see how it would be an issue

Ok, thanks, Nick. I might have to run up there in the next few days and see how it plays.
