Right now, if'n I had two or three free days, I would just stay on my local water for at least a day. It's just too good this time of year. Maybe hit the Big O for a day, and spend the last day either on my favorite brookie lake or the San Poil before they close. But that's just my itinerary. Most sheeople will tell you to go to the Methow.

Yes. Go to the Methow. I heard they're slaying the bull trout there:) Don't go to the Stilly you'll get your windows smashed or your catalytic converter cut off:( Seriously, if it was me and I actually had three days to fish I think I would throw a dart at a map. There are that many opportunities this time of year.

Today and tomorrow the low land lakes are still open. They are cooling off and many still have fish left from spring plantings. If you search around you can find them with no one else fishing them and have the entire lake to yourself. Last year at this time I fished two lakes that had tons of fish feeding on late hatches and not a soul in sight.

San Poil is beautiful this time of year. Lots of good lakes in that area, and the Republic Brewing Company is an excellent after fishing hang.
