    I just finished tying up an assortment of Alaska fly patterns as a Christmas present for a buddy in Alaska.
    The patterns are from the "Fly Patterns Of Alaska" book put out by the Alaska Flyfishers club. One of the patterns was the "Uncle Roger". Kind of got a kick out of the name and liked the pattern so tied the book pattern (dark) and my own variation (light) . They fish the fly dead drift on the bottom for rainbows, dollies, and salmon.

    I have a soft spot for flies with kooky? names
    like "Dead Chicken", "Squimp" :) etc. etc.
