Unidentified fish

    Seattle, WA, USA.
    I fished for cutthroat yesterday on the Hood Canal, off the mouths of several creeks, with no luck. I did hook a small perch-like fish over the eel grass beds. It was just a few inches long with two vertical dark bars and two yellow bars on its sides. Does anyone know what it was?

    it sounds like a shiner perch also called a pogey

    I might be old---but I'm good.

    Not to get away from fishing,but When I was young(it has been along time ago). We used to catch those fish by the bucket full of the old ferry dock in Bremerton. I don't remember if we ate them or sold them,but they were easy to catch with a hand line. Jim :THUMBSUP
