Unlisted Westside Lakes

Discussion in 'Stillwater' started by pfournier, Feb 24, 2010.

  1. Anyone know how the WDFW fishing req's apply to "unlisted lakes"? I might be missing the fine print.

  2. I believe anything not called out in the special regulations falls under the statewide regulations:

    LAKES, PONDS, AND
RESERVOIRS are open to fishing for
game fish (except Doly Varden /Bul
    Trout and GRASS CARP) year-round.

    RIVERS, STREAMS, AND BEAVER
PONDS are open to fishing for game fish
    (except Doly Varden /Bul Trout
and GRASS CARP) The first Saturday in
    June -October 31.

Of course, look at the emergency regs section on WDFW, (https://fortress.wa.gov/dfw/erules/efishrules/) and check for posted notices at the body of water you intend to fish.

  3. They are open year round. Check the general regs section. This is directly off page 30.

"The following rules and seasons apply unless listed otherwise in the Special Rules. For all game fish and salmon, the Special Rules show ALL of the fishing opportunities for each freshwater area listed."

    Followed by

"LAKES, PONDS, AND RESERVOIRS are open to fishing for game fish (except Dolly Varden /Bull Trout and GRASS CARP) year-round."

The next page shows regulations for specific species. Here is the link: http://wdfw.wa.gov/fish/regs/2009/2009sportregs.pdf

  4. Tracy, you beat me to the punch.

  5. Unlisted lakes=year round but this being said remember beaver ponds fall under the regular regs for streams and are not fishable until that opens which is later than the opener for lakes.
