After a couple hours picking huckleberries today, I took the kids to a pond where there's fairly decent fishing. Of course, I forgot any bait for the kids, so I kicked over a cow pie and baited the 5 yr olds hook with maggots. After a couple minutes of fishing, he brought his bobber in to re-cast, and lobbed it over the top of the 15' fir tree he was by. He had to bust off the line, but the bobber fell into the water. Meanwhile, I threw a tailing loop that held. So before I untied it, I took a few casts at the bobber to try and laso it and bring it to shore---cause I had also forgot my tackle box, and did'nt have anything else to rig the spinning rods with. It took a few casts but I got the bobber back, with the hook, and was able to rig up his rod again, untie my line, and get back to fishing.
