After years of fishing with fiberglass and graphite, I'd like to give bamboo a try.

My ideal bamboo starter rod would be a used Orvis impregnated, Hexagraph, or perhaps a refurbished Heddon, Granger or other American classic for 3 to 5 line weight, 8 foot (+/-), 3-piece, with 2 tips. Rod must be fishable, not a fixer, antique or collector's wall mount.

If you don't have one, perhaps you could point me to someone who does?

    Thanks in advance.

I hate to sound like a shill for the River Run Anglers in Carnation, but Aaron is a huge supporter of the modern artisans of Bamboo, as well as previously loved bamboo rods. Check out http://www.speyshop.com/bamboo_room.htm
as an example. Talk to him if you are looking for a fishable bamboo rod, either new or used.

Just an fyi - Hexagraphs aren't really bamboo. They're a bamboo-styled graphite rod that are designed to cast and fish like a cane rod. Good rods, but if you're looking for the "true" bamboo experience you might want to look elsewhere.
