I have an old Eagle Claw that I inherited, the line is shot, easily over 20 years old with no taper. I only plan on using this rod for another month or so, but it would be nice to have some castable line on it. Anybody replace their 7wt line and have some sitting around for free/cheap?

It is easy to buy cheap "no-name" lines that are typically of high quality today.

Many manufacturers sell their lines unbranded for as little as $10 each. Its usually pretty obvious which one it is by line color. I was able to pick up a 9wt floating line recently from Orvis that was a no-name.

There are also some online retailers such as www.fortackle.com that sell them for even less.

Often these lines are given away to guides and other professionals for testing and as promos.
