Hit the lake on Saturday the 16th to
wind, sun, and clouds. Cold, you
bet, with snow on the ground on
the drive up. Lake was very high. Started
with a brown bugger while John used a brown
leech. Nothing at all till 11 am then John
started taking fish on the leech so I made
the change. The fish came in waves of a fish every
other cast with 30 minutes of dead time. I looked over to
see John hook a toad the jumped 3 times as it took him
to his backing. After a five minute struggle he holds up
and eighteen inch spotted beauty. I manage one at 15 inches
that jumped like crazy. As the whitecaps started we coasted
back to the launch taking another 8 fish. All told way over 12 -15 fish
each with half as many LDR or snappage.

    Damn cold!

Sounds like you had a good day. You guys are braver than me. I'm waiting for a little better weather, hopefully in the next week or so. Maybe I'll run into you again.

Dave, that reminds me of the hail and rainstorm I got into in May at a "westside lake".... I like your report! Think I might use the sunshine this week if it shows!

A couple of warm days will bring
    a hatch on.

    John said that these
fish are looking for big protein and
    Mr Leechy was the ticket.

I had on one short shirt,
    one long, wool sweater,
    heavy hoodie, rain coat,
    and waders ( of course).
    Oh... I forgot the mittens
