rod that sage makes to the old 9140-3?
I got the 9140-4 traditional style that I fished in AK all summer for kings, but right at the end of the season I picked up a buddies old 3 piece 9140 and was bombing casts like I knew what I was doing.
    Thank you in advance!

I have a 9140-3 in fine condition I would be willing to sell if you are interested. I have no idea what the going rate is for those these days but for the fish I chase it is way overkill. If you are interested than PM me.

The 9140-3 is the rod I wish I would have bought back in 1993 when I bought my first 2-hander. Instead, I did what you did and got the 9140-4, which as you know is a completely different and very much slower animal. But I digressed.

Within Sage's current line of 2-handers, I'd say the closest to it is the VT2 9 wt (or 8/9 if you please).

However, since jbuehler just offered to sell you his 9140-3, I contact him pronto via PM and work out a deal. By-the-way, the going rate for them is somewhere around $350.00
