Had a killer day on the Sky today! Landed a really nice buck that taped at 34" by 18.5". Not a single other person fishing my hole, PARADISE, despit the hellacious wind. Phone was in my pack, so unfortunately no photos, but it was my first steelhead on the spey rod, and Im stoked!!!!! I lost another one that felt a lot bigger when it straightened out my damn hook!! Ill never use tiemcos for steelhead flies ever again!
On a related note, a buddy of mine landed a 39" x 21" inch monster on the Sauk yesterday

from big eddy to the confluence of the forks. But I heard today that hey might shut it down early as well due to high numbers of natives being caught at Reiter

I skipped class to hit the OP last week. Had tests today. That just wouldn't be wise to skip I don't think.

You did not skip zoology class today, you just took it into the field.

Congrats. I hit the Snoqualmie. One hooked, but not landed - felt like a hatchery fish.

Beautiful morning. Great to hit the river one last time.

I talked to a few guys at the gold bar mini mart who had done well with spoons at Reiter. All natives, not a single hatchery fish seen caught by anyone. I always like talking to spoon fisherman about good water because out of all the gear fishers, they are the ones who like the same kind of water we do, and I often learn about quality water to fish.

Good Work. Now you just need to wait a year to do it again.:beathead:

You know what we are proud of you man! It is a good indication that you managed the fish correct and passed on the hero shot (that means a lot to me anyway).

Its really hard to let em go without a photo, but I just couldnt feel good about bringing it onto the rocks to get a pic and risk removing all its slime layer. It was probably my biggest fish this year, it certainly would have been nice to get a pic. Oh well, the HOH DOWN approaches, hopefully I can get some love out there

Nicely done. What a way to end the S river season. I sure would have liked to get out more this winter, and would have liked even more to land a damn fish. At least I've been enjoying tying up some juicy ass intruders.

    Congrats on a great day.
