Except reverse this. You want each revolution of the motor to turn the rod a fraction of a turn. Need a bigger sprocket on the rod spindle.

Microwave from thrift store, tear it open and bingo..its the plate spinning motor you want.

The transformer for the motor was about $15 and the motor (microwave) $5...roughly 9-12 rpm. seems like a waste, but the damn motors are hard to find for just a couple of bucks. Only made 3 rods on it so far, but it works.

Ive, I have bought mine off ebay. I had to replace mine a couple of months ago. The guy I ordered them from is in China (go figure). they arrived in a couple of weeks and all was fine. I have one extra if you would like to use it and replace it sometime.

How about a nice 7RPM motor like this with a .312 dia shaft?

I'll take it if no one else is interested. PM me to work out the details. I'm having delusions of building a bamboo rod this winter and need to start collecting "the stuff".

Roper, that looks perfect! PM me with details of the transaction. I'll build up a respectable frame for it, finish my rods and give the whole unit back to you so you can use it. You will be retired pretty soon you know.....
