I will be taking my son (8 years old) on a camping trip to the White River. Has anyone fished it lately? What can I exspect to find there and what patterns should I stock up on? This will be my sons first flyfishing trip. Maybe this time next week I will be able to fill you in on his excitment with his first fish on a fly rod.

I was up there last week and it is not a white river right now, because of the heat last week, it is in dark chocolate brown run off, you can hear the boulders moving beneath the fast surface, it was rising quickly and very fast. I am talking south from Enumclaw area towards the park. I had planned to fish it Sunday on my way home from the east side.
It may have settled down a bit- but the whole week has been warm and nice- I am not certain now.

Let me know what you run into on Sunday. I plan on going there next weekend. Also how easy is it to fish from the banks? I don't want my son to wade it.
