I think I go in to work late that day, so I will probably stop by for a couple hours!
This is truly a worthy effort put on by our local shops. Everyone on the site should know about it and get behind such an effort. Hell, most of the event coordinators have been sponsors for years and deserve whatever we can do to get lift it's exposure.
With that in mind I'll take it a step further and toss an email out to entire list of registered users.
Very nice Chris! I've also created a group on Facebook for this event, so if you use FB take a look and pass it along to your friends. Especially anyone who wants to learn to flyflsh. It's going to be a great event!
On FB, just search for "Jimmy Green Memorial Fly Fishing Fair and Casting Expo".
I'll see ya'll there.
Since I am totally bummed on that Bellevue thing, This sounds like the real deal. I am going to make every effort to be there.!!
I am really bummed not to be able to attend this event. I think it definetly is going to raise the bar for what an event should be
I'll be there at the Orvis booth with Leland and Ross! I've donated a full-day float to the raffle.
I'm planning on bringing my brother-in-law who is living in washington for the summer. He's definitely curious about FFing. Sounds like a great time and atmosphere to help expose him to it. Does anyone know if dogs are allowed, (or how wise of an idea it would be to bring the little guy along)? Looking forward to the 20th!
Does your little guy like to chew on fly rods, fly lines? And if he does, are you willing to be liable for any damage he causes? Just a thought.
Good Point! He is only 9 weeks old, so I will play it by ear.
Hell, I’m bringing my dog and he is the complete opposite of yours and Salmo I am ready to take complete responsibility for a 180 lbs Newfie. Think of the damage he could do. Chew on rods? He could eat 'em if he wanted.
Bert, who do we contact if we have any questions about the event? Who are some of the 'key' organizers?
Go to www.jimmygreenflyexpo.com my son and all will be answered, grasshopper.
Ah-so, master, I had already gone to the website but didn't make it down to the bottom line on the list.
Well, I'll officially be at the Project Healing Waters booth all day. Will be there in the morning until I help with the cooking. I may head back to the PHW booth afterwards, depending on time (I have an engagement I have to attend Saturday evening).
The event web site really is amazing, especially when you remember this is the first time for the event. Most of the fly shops in our area are (deeply) involved in the planning and production of the event. If you don't find answers to your questions on the site, please feel free to PM me, Richard. I'll try to connect you with the person with the best answer.
Some people have been wondering if the casting course will be set up this Sunday again at the lake?
What say Kristen, Ron, Mike?
Hey - Nope, we aren't able to set up at Lake Tye either of the next two weekends, there are model boat races going on.
We'll be at Ben Howard as usual...practicing some distance casting!
i think im gonna be at benhoward boat launch this weekend if i can get a ride. if i am, i wont be distance casting. ill be trying to break in my brand new rod, reel, and line!
hope i can make it out there!
