    Back for more.

11 days and 10 nights in the Winds. Ahhh does it get any better?

We really put some miles on the boots but it was worth it. Goldens, cutts, brookies, and rainbows. Not to mention every kind of unholy hybrid imaginable ;)

Weathered some mofo storms but that was the worst of it. Temps dipped to cold but not too bad. Lingering snow made for some tricky route finding but, again, manageable.

Already got plans for next year swirling in my head. Each visit just makes me want more.

    Anyhoo, enjoy!

Looks like you had a great trip! I took a trip very similar to that several years back. Section Corner and Elbow Lakes are beautiful.

Looks great. What is the story with pic. 297? Ring in the water?

The grass circle was a head scratcher. The grass grew only at a certain depth, no deeper. We theorized the lake bottom there must shallow out in a depression of some sort. What makes such a depression? A 10 foot long brookie digging redds of course. Wading came to a halt after this conclusion ;)

Thanks. I needed that. It has been too many years since I've been in there.

Awesome photo's. I drive through the Wind River Canyon several times a year for business and hadn't given a thought to the higher elevation fishing. I'll be planning for next summer. Again...wonderful pics.

    Beautiful!
Like R. Olmstead said, it's been way too many decades since I went into the Winds. The summer of '72 was magical -thanks for the memories!

I and some friends did an 11-day backpack and fish trip there in '86. Sounds like it is still the same incredible fishing and awe-inspiring peaks. We used Grave Lake as our base camp.

    Thks for sharing.
