Anyone know where's a good place to camp on the Sauk this winter?

There's also a campground at Government Bridge (S. Skagit Highway), but I don't think there's any restrooms or amenities.

The park in the previous post is free. And full of party trash. Wouldn't trust one iota to leave anything there unattended. Plus its under the canopy and seriously moist = will grow moss on your crack!

Is that a county park? Is it open in winter?

Technically no it's not open for the winter, but it has no gates so I use it...let me know when you go I'm down for a little fishing/camping..

It's not a bad campground. I was up there yesterday and the week before. Clean, except a couple of fire pits had some cans in them. No tables or porta dumps. I guess bring your own. Nice run on the river.

I would suggest Howard Miller. There are a few spots to camp on the Sauk itself if you're hell bent, but its about as sketchy an area as I can imagine.

The Sauk camp site is open for day only and camping starts march 1. So if you have been there over night you have been luck because the park ranger will ask you to leave and go some where else sorry.

I wanna go, I wanna go!

Still not allowed back in the river until 3/1, but have most everything gearwise.
