Winter Lake 3

Discussion in 'Fly Swaps' started by Irafly, Nov 27, 2013.

This has been too good not to continue! 12 total tiers, two flies of the same pattern. That means you tie a total of 22 of the same pattern.

    1. Irafly balance leech
    2. Troutpocket
    3. Travis Bille
    4. Steeli
    5. Wayne Kohan
    6. dbk
    7. Jeff Dodd
    8. Obsessed
    9. Triploidjunkie
    10. Nick Clayton
    11. Rod Wittner
    12. Bob Newman
  2. Yes please. Pattern TBD.
  3. Awesome! I was hoping you would see this.
  4. I'm down. Any idea for a due date?
  5. I'm in depending on due date. Saw the patterns from the last Winter swap and looked like good variety. Pattern tbd.
  6. I'm in.

  7. I am in
  8. Put me on the list Ira!

    Thank you
  9. What the heck, I'll throw my name in too. I think I will tie up some Banana Slugs

  10. Once we have everyone, it will be easier to set a due date, but usually I give it a month. So look to have things done sometime around the 1st of the year. If you start now, that is less than a fly a day, easy!
  11. Shit. Spare time is rare these days, but I guess count me in. Question: Does it have to be two of the exact same? What about eleven of one fly, eleven of another?
  12. I've done this in the past and it works well as well, but I always find myself wishing I owed two of a good pattern. I could easily go either way so if you sent two patterns, I'd make it work.
  13. If rookies are allowed, I'm in. Sounds like fun.

I'm tying up some thin mints. A size 8 and size 10 for everyone.

Jeff Dodd and troutpocket like this.
  15. I haven't decided what to tie. What I catch most fish on is probably similar what what Ira is going to tie. I could go with an all white little micro leech I've been trying for my local lake...

    Sweet flies Wayne!!
  16. I'm tying a balance leech with a black tail and black and red body.
  17. If there is still an opening i'm in.
  18. I think I'm going to tie cone head crystal hackle bunny leeches. One will be white and olive, the other will be blacker than the inside of a coffin on a moonless night

  19. Travis. This sounds like a great pattern. Is there a link to a fly recipe you can suggest?

Yesterday I tied John Barr's meat whistle for the first time. I am wondering if these flies are similar. While tying the meat whistle I was thinking it might do well at my local lake.
