I was too late in signing up for the other steel swap going on now, so I thought I would see if I could round up enough folks to get a second one going! I would prefer to get 10 tiers, and the deadline is January 31st, so we still can have plenty of time to use them.

So what do you say? This is my first time hosting a swap, so help me make it memorable! :thumb:

Still waiting on some flies. Hopefully I will see them this week so I can get them out to you by the weekend.

That's fabulous Fly Punk! Now we just need 8 more and we can make a run at this!

Come on, you know you want to!

I will contribute to this swap. I typically host or join about two swaps per year, so count me in.

Hmmm...Are you thinking that we would do 1 fly per tier, ie. tye 10 flies for the swap? I could swing 10, but 20 might be tough.

Im in at 10 and out at 20...

Chukar, yes one fly per tier. If the number of tiers stays at 6 or so we can do a couple flies per tier, but the number would stay roughly the same. Hopefully we can pull in another four or so and get tying!
Thanks everyone for signing up, I am looking forward to getting this going. Only another four to go....jump on in!

Sure, I'll jump in on this one too. I haven't decided what to tie yet, but probably something with a spey hackle as I just got a couple Whiting capes and am futsing around with them working to get some pattern I like. Might try something in purple with peacock.....

I'll get in too. I'm half done with my other swap's flies. I agree with Chuckar Spey though, I'm in at ten tyers.

So far, in case anyone is keeping track:
    1 Dinker
    2 Fly Punk
    3 Obiwankanobi
    4 Nick asw
    5 Gary Dills
    6 Chuckar Spey
    7 Slippery Whippet
    8 Mumbles
    9 Steve S
    10 Daryl Holmstrom

That looks like ten to me...what say you swapmeister?

Looks like Mumbles is on it tonight! Yes, let's close this one off and get tying! Thanks for jumping on board, as this is my first swap, and I am still in the hunt for my first steel. So let's hope this helps! I will send everyone my addy via PM and if everyone can get them to me by the 31st we will all be on our way.
If you want to let me know what your tying that would be good, but not neccesary. I think I will do a purple bunny love leech. (Just an egg sucking bunny).

I will be tying my own shrimp spey pattern. Anyone opposed to spey flies let me know since I realize that not everyone fishes on the swing.

No opposition here, getting a fly and being told how to fish it sure is a benefit.

If you ain't got that swing....it don't mean a thing!!!
I can't possibly think of a more fun way to catch them!!!
(This coming from the guy that tied a spey shrimp pattern for the "other" Winter Steel swap) :thumb:

Sent my addy to you all. Let me know if you didn't get it for some reason. Hope everyone has a safe and happy New Year! I plan on throwing some flies on Whidbey this weekend, we'll see what happens.

    Cheers,

Wrapped up my Winter Steelhead Swap (I) for the mail and put my next project materials out for tomorrow. I'm up, of course, so I figured I'd watch a little MMA, Sportscenter, Dealiest Catch and tie up a few. So far they are looking a bit like this. I like them, I hope you do too. I got some similar to this in another swap and just knew they'd fish well.

#8 Stainless stinger hook on doubled 30# power pro (sexy red)
    Purple bunny leech strip tail
    Peacock/purple sparkle flash
Purple and pink ostrich for action
    Pink bunny head/collar

Got 'em all done, hitting up USPS online and will get them in the mail this afternoon.
