OK, so I made the name and the fly up this week. Call it what you will. I've been on a bit of an intruder kick lately, both tying new ones and upgrading old ones. Black is a good color, and originally I thought I would finish this with orange rabbit, making an ESL of sorts. Black looked too good to me so I let it stand.

55 mm Waddington shank. Big barbell eye
    Tag is med/lg oval tinsel.
Dubbing ball in rear is black UV ice dub
    Tail collar is black schlappen
Body is black med chenille, black schlappen, then over ribbed/counter wrapped with med/lg oval tinsel.
I then tie in the deer hair (black) using a dubbing loop and spin it. Once it is secure, I fold it forward and then tie in the dubbing ball. I used black UV ice Dub again, and tied it in until the deer stood almost straight up.
The next layer is black Finn Raccoon, also tied in with a dubbing loop and spun.
Wing is a clump of peacock herl, then a med clump of black holographic flashabou-something-or-other.
Final wraps over the eyes is rabbit strip put in a dubbing loop, spun and wound forward.

The wing stands up quite well. It has been brushed and mashed with fingers quite severely, and this is what it looks like afterwards.

Anyway, here is the wee beastie.

I like the way the eye pops right out at you in the first photo.
