Wrapping rods, tying flies...same threads?

    Anybody use the same thread for wrapping rods and tying flies- I have been- Is fly thread smaller? Any recommendations- running out of thread.

    I found this...As for sewing thread, what you want is size 40wt. It's about the same size as size A nylon. As far as sewing thread, I would run from cotton or rayon as it will really get wierd and swell when wet. If you stick with polyestor or metallic and use CP, you will be OK. Madeira and others are very popular with builders.

    Also, fly tying thread might have stuff in it that will not mate with wrapping and finishing and may not be right for packing wraps.
