Need an inexpensive 6wt reel and line to put on 9ft 6wt rod that a friend just inherited. Something decent enough to catch a few pinks this summer. WF line preferred for easy casting, can be intermediate or floating and backing would be nice, but isn't required. Medium or large arbor reel preferred, but I'm not super picky. Looking to spend less than $30 for reel + line.

    thanks,
    Christophe

If someone doesn't have a used combo you might look into an Echo Solo reel for $34 or Cabela's Wind River for $29 and SA Aircel line for >$20.

Thanks, will consider those if I don't get any offers. Hoping to spend less than that as I just want to let a friend use his deceased father-in-law's rod for a little nostalgic entertainment.

i have an sth airweight rebadged for cabelas w/ extra spool. drag knob has a tendancy to loosen easily if bumped (design flaw, but never accidently tightens) great used cond, machined in argentina. more than youre looking for, but i'd ship it for 40 and i think i can find a line to throw in.
