Spent the day on the river with my son Ryan and our guide, David Child of Dream Flyfishing. From launch to takeout, the bite was on. We caught fish all day on small nymphs under an indicator. Streamers had a few hits and dry flies only seemed to antagonize us, rather than the fish. The sun was bright, the temperature was just right, and the company could not have been better. My son will be headed off to the US Navy in a few months and this might have been the last trip on the river with him for a while. He hooked up early on a nice 15" bow and then we started hooking up. We caught more than 20 bows, 4 huge whitefish, and even a few tiny salmon smolt (astronaut fish, if you know what I mean). As you can see from some of the pics, smiles were everywhere and that is what really matters.

Best days in my life are on the river with my wife and sons fishing even if I have to row all day! Thank you for your service Ryan, come home safe!
