    Nothin wrong with rockfish.... there are some pretty sweet rockfish out there! do you have a favorite memeber of the Sebastes genus?

    Mine is the Sebastes nigrocinctus... the Tiger Rockfish...

    I believe that it is a previously recognized subspecies of cutthroat that was called the Mountain Cutthroat native to parts of BC above barrier falls, some also considered the Cascade Mtn. and John Day cutts to be members of this form. It is now just considered to be a Westslope Cutthroat though due to lack of enough isolation time and genetic differences...

    Favorite individual fish: Walleye in shallow water with a bugger. That was a fun little suprise.

    Westslope cutty. Maybe because I can actually catch them.

    That's a good question! I think they're Sebastes melanops that are so plentiful where I fish in the straits but we catch quite a few quillbacks and coppers too.
