Your favorite trailer hook?

  1. Thats interesting Tallfallguy, I have only tied 6 or 8 hang backs before for trophy trout, trolling lakes and also noticed how the octopus hook lays point open, not point closed on the loop making the hook have a hard time grabbing a lot of meat on a take. I thought a siwash hook (straight shaft) would bring the point down much better to set deep. I will have to check the dropshot hooks out because I hate tying these hangbacks and If they hang at a better angle than a octopus they would get my vote.

  5. Another vote for the gami drop shot

    For big striper and pike flies like the tru turn hooks.
     
  6. Eric, if you used the hook on that fly I gave you, it was an Owner SSW Size 1
     
  7. Said fly which hooked and landed 3 mighty skagit fish in one day? that fly? that special, special fly? :)

    That is what I use mostly, though size 2 and 4.
