Boat Dilemma -
I currently have a 12' flat bottom aluminum boat which is not ideal for my situation. I have the need to go up to three miles and feel safe in relatively large bays (Discovery Bay and Sequim Bay) searching for silver and sea-run cutts. I found a 15' aluminum Smokercraft Alaskan with a 25 horse that I like. Is that big enough or do you experienced saltwater anglers think I should jump to a 16' like a Smokercraft lodge? I will beach the boat at times so aluminum is required - I will mostly be fishing by myself but will at times take a friend or two. Will I notice a big difference between a 15' and a 16' in terms of space and safety?
Thanks in advance!
