Glad it was unscathed. I have had to unhook gulls, an Ouzal, Little Brown Bat, and a Beaver (as well as an ear a time or two,), @Derek Young. And I'm truly amazed that none of the various Swallows haven't grabbed a fly in the air over the years.
AKA Audubon's warbler. It has been said that he (Audubon) never spotted one of these fairly common birds, which (to me) is very ironic, interesting and probably not true. Once you learn it's "chirp" you know it's there without having to see it. Very cool (and unique) image Deric
Yes, "butter-butt" is a common term for the species. Some birds will hang around through the winter in our relatively mild climate but most migrate south, especially to coastal California for the winter and return in the spring.

When I saw the title of this thread, my mind started wandering. I remember my dad used to tease my mom by saying he was a bird watcher, and his favorite bird was the rosy-breasted pushover.
