Both are factory rods with socks and matching rod tubes from that era.

    • Sage RPL 9' 5 wt 4-piece, Rod shows wear, surface scratches on the graphite, cork isn't the prettiest, but of course covered by the lifetime warranty. Dark brown Graphite 3 blanks with brown wraps. I would rate it a 7 out of 10.
    • Sage VPS 9' 5 wt 4-piece, blanks are shiney, minimal use, cork is smooth with light discoloration, dark brown graphite 3 blanks with green wraps, would rate it a 9 out of 10.
Paypal is good, and includes shipping to any CONUS address. Price is $185 each.

    Paul -

Having RPL's already (and I really love them) - how would you compare the the RPL to the VPS?
I wouldn't mind adding the VPS to my quiver

The blanks of VPS were supposed to replicate the RPL's and they are close, however a closer check of the wts,in oz. show the RPL to be a tad lighter. VPS rods typically wrapped in green as opposed to the RPL's brown. I owned both and fished them hard. Not enough difference to fuss over. That said I would like the RPL rod. Please email me directly drnymph@centurylink.net. Thanks

Dave, very similar to the RPL, I think the VPS came after the RPL as they tried to re-market it when the RPL evolved into the XP. I think for $185, its a great main and or back up rod.

So funny. I have both these rods. I bought the VPS for a back up rod. I kind of always thought the VPS was the exact same blank as the RPL.

Apologies... I didn't see a PM from you and already had promised the rod to someone else before logging on to see that you also wanted it. If that deal doesn't work out, then you're next up. Sorry for the confusion.
