Vague question get's a vague answer.

Yes, there are good places in and around Hood Canal for searuns.

Are you going to be someplace specific already, or are you looking for an actual destination? Got a boat?

This question has been asked and answered countless times on this BB; answered very thoroughly, I might add. Look in the archives and you'll find a lot of information. Also, check local fishing shops. Most of the staffers will be knowledgable on our coastal cutthroat. As for hotspots, one thing most veteran sea-run cutthroat (or coastal cuthroat, but please, not SRCs) fishers will tell you is, that they move around a lot. We all spend a good deal of time looking for them.

I was thinking somewhere just north of Olympia over on the west side. I have fished up in that area before as far up as the Dosewallips. I have a pontoon boat I was thinking might be good. And sorry if I said it the wrong way! didn't mean to offend. I should have thought of doing a search, I forgot to think about that. So it's coastal cutthroats from now on, thanks for correcting me!

Stephen, If you want company in your explorations up there, let me know, and I'll cancel work. I have some ideas and know of a couple of spots that can be good at times.

great low tides this weekend. go drive 101, slowly, from hoodsport nw. take your glasses and spend time on the shoulder looking. things should be pretty obvious once the water backs out.

Stephen, Ya there? Check your pms! Wind is now forecast to be 20 - 30 knots from the South. Pretty heavy breeze. I'm getting off the net now so my phone is accessable. If I don't hear from you, I'll be there at the ramp and then we'll have to figure out a "plan B" if the conditions are too insane.
