I have a 4" Hardy Perfect for sale if anyone is interested. It is of a 1945-1950 vintage.

The reel is in good condition for its age. There are the usual scuff marks on the rim of the reel, but only what you would expect.(there are no cracks on the reel)

The mechanics of the reel are superb.

I am looking for ?325 plus postage (?5 to UK residents and ?15 to anywhere else).

Best suited to a 14 or 15 ft rod and will carry any line on the market, allowing ample backing.

yeah it did, its big enough to carry any line out there, and obviously if it can carry any big line, it could carry say a 3 wt. with a lot of backing

    Sorry about that Jason

Best suited to a 14 or 15 ft rod and will carry any line on the market, allowing ample backing.(meaning up to the largest spey line - xlt or Grand Spey 10/11). Best suites to a 9-11 spey line.

    Hope this helps

lines are sold by rod weight classification, not rod length. I can have a 9ft 8wt and a 10ft 7wt...... he just answered the question
if i bought the reel, i'd like to know what kind of rod and line to match it with.

Monetary units are pounds, not dollars?

Europe..they do and say things a little different....and spey is much more common by length..at least with the Norwegians I have dealt with.

Gordon, I dropped you a personal message on this a while back. And your answer was fine for me, thank you, I got it clearly.
