NFR Anacortas

#1
We are thinking of moving to Anacortas. Are there more desirable areas to live than others? Are there any fly clubs in the area? Just trying to get some general info on the area.
Thanks

.....for fly clubs; Fidalgo Fly Fishers. It has been awhile since I was involved with the club but they used to meet once a month, held a number of fishing events during the year, were involved with many habitat and fishery groups within the Skagit Valley.

Great little island town and you don't even have to take a ferry. Good fishing and a great fly/tackle shop called Holiday Sports.

Make sure to go to Adrift restaurant as soon as possible. Get anything on the menu, it's all good.

Anacortes has been on some of those "Best places to live/retire" lists that magazines frequently publish. Being able to see a huge white volcano from everywhere in town (weather permitting) may not be important, but spectacular beauty isn't a negative, is it? There are a few small trout-stocked lakes nearby, on the way to Pass Lake, one of the best fly fishing lakes in western WA, about 15 minutes away. The lower Skagit isn't far.
