MA10 Report: What to do when the pinks won't show...

#1
Received some late night intel via a text that was just too tempting so I called in sick to work, hooked my boat up, and met up with Mtskibum at a MA10 launch not too far from his house for a day of exploring.

We got in this

It really sucks around here when the pinks are late.

Dang it Nick I wanted you to take the day off so I could fish with you! Dude you are killing me.
I like that he took the seat off and stood on the bench, why didn't I think of that! Just think, I could have been in the boat as well and that could have been 6 not 4, just saying.

Haha dude I totally convinced myself I was not going to take it off. Until around eleven or so last night. I considered texting you but it was so late I didn't figure you'd be able

I would have had to cash in some hubby points, but I would have done it in a heart beat. I would not minded at all taking turns. I'm heading to Pass tomorrow to fish the late afternoon/evening, so I'll be ok.

Ira,
Here is one I used for years before buying a Bean basket. It worked very well.
$5.00 Rubbermaid dish pan and plastic doll caps from a craft store. I used Marine Goop to attach the caps. No metal screws so nothing to rust and took about 10 minutes to make. About the same amount of time it takes to crank out a few chironomids ;)
The only thing I'd do different if starting again would be no holes.

Fun day on the water! We did put the work in for those fish though, not exactly easy pickins. Thanks for having me along! I can't wait until the fish show up in bigger numbers!

So Nick, if you had been standing on a beach, would you have been as productive?
In this spot probably not, but there are many times/places that the beach can be very productive. I had a number of days last year where I had a limit from the beach before the sun came up. A boat certainly isn't required for good salmon fishing in the sound. However, it makes it much easier to get away from the crowds!
