    Gawd! If he can squeeze through the gill net what size steelhead are they targeting? 6-10 pound hatcheries... MMMhmmm.

    Leland, that is a gorgeous fish! Hey the photo is a bit small but I saw the one John sent out via email and I'm thinking that at least some of those injuries are old. How fresh was the wound on the dorsal? It almost looks like he might have had a run in with an orca or sea lion. Think about a fish that large swimming into a gill net, do you think he could make it up to his dorsal with the size mesh they're using? Just a thought, let me know what you think you saw him in real life. Either way, spectacular fish!

    this fish made it up to the counting site I was on, we also netter fish that had been caught and released from the test fishing gillnet

    anyway fish are tough, that one is goreous
