AFS floater not floating so good

#1
I suspect that's because I've never cleaned it, and it's seen a lot of Puget Sound action lately. Anybody have any cleaning tips?

Warm water and a mild dish/hand soap is what I typically use when any lines start to not float as high or when I take lines off before storing for the season.

Indeed I have Tom. I've enjoyed them on the right rod in a river and on a switch rod overhead from the beach fishing over a fast drop off shelf. Very nice! Ed

Go out and get that cleaning kit made by Scientific Anglers. It has every thing you need to clean and re float your fly line. Sure you can clean it in warm soapy water but you still need to redress it to float good. Plus if you have ever cut your line back, the cut end may be wicking up water. You should seal it with something.

Thanks for all the line cleaning tips. I had some Cortland line dressing around somewhere--I'll see if I can find it.

PS Ed, yes those sinking AFS heads are nice. I used mine a lot on the Sauk last year.
