Does someone know which bayonet type adapter works with these boats? I have several that look like they should work but when I check them with calipers it's apparent that they won't fit. I could modify one to make it work but it's a real pain and I would rather just start with a new adapter.
What is the name of those valves? Where can I get an adapter? Any idea why an inflatable boat that cost over $1K doesn't come with the fitting to blow it up? It's kinda like buying a new car and then having to go to a locksmith to get a key.
If you have answers to any of these questions I would like to hear them.
I went Ace Hardware and bought piece of flex tubing that fit the valve on my boat and was able to use that for the connection to my pump. Cost less than one dollar.
When I got my new boat from the factory it came with a piece of hose. Red rubber hose with one end sanded to round the cut edge. It isn't a twist con ect, but a pressure fit.
I use a k-pump and have never had a problem inflating anything by useing the adapters that come with the pump. This is why I'm sold on these hand pumps.
Ive, I think I have seen mentioned elsewhere that the valves scadden uses are actually Bravo valves. Ed is right about the adapter for the valves, it doesn't twist on you just kind of cram it in there. The K-pump adapters do the trick as well.
Well guys, I have a bag of fittings, adapters, tygon tubing and rubber hoses and have no problem at all pumping the new boat up with the contents of that bag. But I would still like to have a dedicated bayonet fitting just for the Predator. I have multiple pumps and want one that is just grab and go with no sorting through a bag of goodies to find just the right one.
I'll call Scadden and try to get the straight skinny on what those valves are.
Problem solved. Using a Dremel tool with a 1/8th carbide bit, calipers and a set of pattern files I modified a similar adapter to just fit the new boat. It was actually kind of fun once I found the will to do it. Run whatcha 'ya brung!
