Last fall, a buddy of mine from this board took me out for a day on the lower skagit fishing for searun cutts. We went out in his (12ft?) aluminum skiff and it was a grand 'ol time. And of course, made me want one of my own. What should I be looking for in an aluminum boat? I'd likely use it for the type of stuff I listed in the title: -Cutts on the Skagit -some salt fishing -placing a crab pot or two (I'm not a big crabber, but friends are) -Lake fishing on motor-allowed lakes from time to time -Taking friends and kids out for a putt around and dropping a line in What size of a boat does it take to hold 2 adults? What about 2 adults and 2 (small) kids? What kind of bottom should I be looking for? Seems like a john boat would be fine on a river, trouble in the salt. But a deep V seems a bit much for the freshwater. Then again, I probably don't know what I'm talking about. Finally, budget is in the $750-1750 range and it has to be able to be pulled by my Ranger.
