Just wondering if anyone has been out to Kennedy Creek or anywhere in the South Sound. Everything seems to be late this year. Chambers creek is completely devoid of any salmon when last year there were both Coho and Kings present at this time...

Had a big chum up to the boat Saturday at Dalco but wasn't able to get him netted. (my clumsy fault)
Have heard they are catching some at PT Defiance as well so they are showing.
Run forcast is down a little from the average this year but not too bad.
Commercial boys and girls start fishing the south sound week of the 19 for chums so that may/will have some impact.
They are talking it up pretty good because the price is up quite a bit.

I caught a chum on the west side of the Narrows today. Quite a surprise. Saw a number moving south, within 30 feet of the beach.

Robbi, welcome to the board. It is great to hear from you. I haven't been out much due to a busy business schedule but look forward to fishing this weekend. I hope to see you out there soon.

    Best regards, Steve

Cool thanks Robbi, that's exactly the data I was looking for. Those chums were probably headed for Purdy or Minter creek hatchery :)

Yep I've lived in UP for 12 years now. The Narrows can be good this time of the year. In another couple of weeks though the Chum will be in Chico, Kennedy (SW of Olympia) and Minter creeks (opens Nov 1 this year). Good luck!

Is there a good public access spot for Minter Creek near the mouth of the creek?

And thanks all again for telling "WHERE TO FISH" so thousands of others can get together and fish together....."Oh, Hi there, Could you please scoot over, your elbows are touching mine".

    Cranberry Country...a glorified coastal swamp!
"Excuse me, but, just to warn you, I don't think you want to fish very close to me. I'm kind of a wild caster." (Whips line around wildly and carelessly, narrowly missing the intruder's ear).
"But that's OK, because I fish barbless. The hooks come out real easy.":D

Do they run through Purdy??? I have not seen anything that could be a chum there. Only a sea run or two.
