My plans for heading south to chase bows and browns changed when my buddy had to work.
I decided to stay local and hit Ballinger since I had some chores to get done. There was a very good chironomid hatch which yielded a number of chuncky planters from the opposite side of the island. Size 12 chromie was the bug of choice.
I noticed some splashy rises, so I toss a peacock raccoon up next to shore. I ended up landing a number of small cutts. It is my understanding these are offspring of cutts that come out up McAleer creek out of Lake Washington. If that is the case, it is pretty cool to have native fish in a highly populated urban setting.
Headed out around 3:00 with my first sunburn of the season to do one of my least favorite things.....mow the lawn.
