Sorry guys, I meant to post the cartoon on the "man purse" thread... I got in a hurry.
I was going to say "grenade", but either will work.
So what happens if you tie on a stick of dynamite to the end of your fly rod? Does that count as a very effective lure since its definitely not bait. Maybe glue on some tinsel for flash...
Lots of great advice in this thread guys. Just to put my .02 in, check out this link.
Tom goes over a lot of basic stuff and there is alwasy something to learn, and check out the other videos.
My dad saw some 155mm artillery guys do that in WW2 in the Pacific. That is...until the capt said the next one would be their ticket to the front line. Fishing ended lol.
Good idea. I've watched some of these videos and I really like the way they are presented. I like the way Tom does it, really makes it fun and not too serious.
WHAT!?!? There aren't 40 likes on GAT's post? I was reading through all this thinking, "when the hell is somebody gonna start saying to turn over rocks? For God's sake if nobody says I sure will!!!"
TURN OVER ROCKS.
Put a pickle jar lid in your vest pocket, flick the little buggers into it with a little water in it. Then you'll see their true color, the way they move, etc... and it is Taxon's preferred background to provide you with positive ID if you photograph em. Man, he's a wizard.
Yes! Now that is some valuable material! Thanks a ton for posting that!
