Here is the Batson 2wt. 6'6" 4pc. It's a sweet little rod from 0' to 40' with a 3wt. line. This rod is right up with the Orvis Superfine Touch 663-4 that I love so much. For the price of this blank, it is highly under priced. It has the physical lightness of graphite, but it handles a 3wt. line akin to glass, with just a slightly faster recovery speed. I really think that graphite is at its best in the lower modulus IM6 area like this rod.
This was one of the custom seats that I worked out with Joel using the Orvis slip rings. I did three turn white tipping on every wrap. The guides are single foot light chrome with a Titanium American Tackle Titan #7 stripping guide.
It's a really fun rod! Pure lightness and tight loops.

Great looking rod! I built one in a 3wt in a 2 piece and fished it on a local small river. I love that thing and it will throw, small cone head slump busters with ease, I caught a 16" SRC on it and it felt like a monster! Batson makes really nice blanks! And you built it up nicely!
Nice one, wraps look like the one's I did on a RX6 4 pc in the 5 weight. I went black w/ silver 2 wrap trim. It looks clean on that dark blue blank & gloss black guides
Jeff, Sorry for the late reply. I like the rod with a 3wt. line personally, which slows down the action a bit. I fish a lot of glass rods, so slowing down the rod is a good thing for me. For graphite, the tip is plenty soft and I regularly fish it with a 5x and 6x tippets.

Yes, the above rod is the Forecast series. I've built the 7'6" 4wt. 4pc. blank as well. I built the 4wt. as a spin/fly rod for my brother in law. He loves it.
Thanks. This is a great blank, even though I like to fish it with a 3wt. line. I used pretty basic chrome single foot guides; they were probably pacbay if I remember correctly. The stripping guide is an American Tackle Titan (titanium) stripping guide, size #7 I believe. Joel Lemke helped me custom design the reel seat, but the rings we used are from Orvis. The thread is YLI silk blue tipped in white. The finish is a single coat of epoxy.
