That is why you never just tie one fly. :) It is always the one that works and you'll lose it.

In the 27 yrs of fly fishing... that statement seems to be more true than not! :D

It's that fly in your box (that you swear you have six more of somewhere) or the one you put on and think: "I should give one a try just for fun ". And that's the one - you only have one of.

Yep zen, if you and Ira a believers, then so am I. Like I've said, this whole indicator fishing is completely new for me. It's kind of fun to have a new twist, like fishing new waters...

I know. However for me it is.

I did try using one for steelhead last year or so... went 1 for 9, go figure. I fish the "feel" method and miss very few fish. Of course, either way, fish are going to be missed For years I felt like using one was a kind of cheating. Then I thought, "Hmm...who's the one getting "cheated" here?

This Blood Worm thread gave me an idea for a cartoon so I came up with a rough and sent it to the editor of FFM. He likes it so now I gott'a color the sucker. Thanks for the idea!
(Now you know why I really hang around this place as much as I do :) -- and no... you won't receive a by-line credit nor any $$ for the idea :p )

I have no idea when they'll use it. Sometimes the cartoons get bumped if they have additional advertisers for the issue. Yes, said to say but the cartoons are expendable crew members :) They pay for them up front so they use them when they'll fit.

By the way, if you're going to be using "technical" terms larva is the singular form and larvae (pronounced "lar-vee") the plural.

Try puffer ball material with a rubbery squirmy wormy purchased at the 1$ store. There is a fly tying material company (that I forgot who) that supplies this material that can be found in your local fly shop. You can purchase in red and also green, and perhaps glow-in-the-dark.

Weird... I just ordered some red tubing to use to tie blood worms. I've also ordered some red rubber leg material to experiment with.
