I'm in, Alex. There still must be plenty of slugs out there, but I agree . . . Banana slugs are bulls; a guy might want a back-up. All I know is I plan on having fun with this thing & there's no shortage of winged targets down here (plus, the varmints that take shelter in the garden window will soon be officially "salted-down."). I'll exact some retribution for the load of rock salt I took in the butt when I was a kid even tho I deserved it, lol.

It works! Tallied my first kill; bull fly on the grill cover . . . flipped that thing about 4 feet, lol. I might have to barbeque tonight; I believe that baiting is legal for flies . . .

It's the most fun I've ever had eradicating flies & spiders. I might leave the doors open all summer, lol.

Inquiring minds want to know if you have taken anything on the wing yet. Calculating proper lead would seem to be a challenge.

Haven't tried, Mike, but I did smack a wasp while I was trimming Arborvitae today . . . didn't kill it, but pissed it off & grounded it (evidently they can't fly with shredded wings). Moths might be a possibility on the wing since it would be fairly simple to establish oneself within 3-feet of a light at night, but it would still be quite a challenge (not that I've planned such entertainment for a future warm summer night . . .).

Maybe you need a larger "pellet" for your new gun. Kosher salt might give deeper penetration. A salt tablet might work if the dangerous game is charging.

I plan to try kosher salt on the next hopper fill, but I'm a big fan of small shot & denser patterns.
