whichever you want jerry
Ill do the hacked mercers in a #18
your flies are in the mail
So whens the due date Sarge
Unless there are issues with any of you we'll make the due date (to me) Apr. 15th
Sounds ok to me ...maybe even sooner?
How bout getting them to you the 3rd week of march that way you can get them out to everyone before April. That still gives us a month sound good?
I'd be up for sooner. Mike, send us a PM with your address. I'm half way done and think I'll finish by the end of the weekend. I'm headed out to the Clark Fork on what looks to be a premature trip for Skwala's next weekend, so I have to get started on some "what if all else fails" flies.
my address has been pm'd to all
Mike the beetis look quite a bit lighter this year than last i noticed. I tied those beetis in a black pheasant tail last year and they worked perty good ...this year they look substantially lighter. Danville light olive thread color, not UNI olive that would be to dark i think. They also have a dark streak down the spine going from lighter to darker black toward the wingcase. Body is very transluscent. Maybe tie the body in the shiney floss olive thread and wrap just a few strands of light grey antron around the thread body so that when it gets wet the olive will show through the antron and give it that transluscent exoskeleton look. Rib the body in a lighter wire instead of the green wire silver maybe even gold or grey. Tie in one thin (1mm) strip of rainbow flashabou for the spine and color it with a magic marker toward the head. The thorax i would leave the same maybe use light hares ear colored squirrel dubbing, instead of rabbit dubbing and you shouldnt have to tie the legs in, the buggyness of the dubbing should be enough to entice i think. Tie over some flashback for a wing case instead of the black pheasant tail. The bodys are slimmer than last year too. Im toying around with the spine a bit thinking it might look good between the thread body and the antron wrap not making it so pronounced. Just giving you a few ideas from what i seen yesterday on the river. Sizes range from 18-22... for the s-river and the green river i would tie some in 24's. Sows look a bit bigger this year ...some in the 16 range still that same rainbow color but im gonna tie em on straight hooks this time . Let me know wht kind of variations you come up with yourself
We fished it last week and pumped some of the stromachs. the baetis were still dark, i didn't see any light ones in the stomachs. i have been tying a bunch of jerry's baetis in the natural color, same as last year, so will have to give them a shot and see what happens
Sweet man id like to see a pic of the naturals or get a recipe from ya
