Cold and rainy, the water temps (foot themometer) are not getting much better, something is changing though, small midges coming off (#26/24) were getting the fish pretty reved up yesterday with some heavy feeding going on for most of the day, I didn't have much luck with pupae or emergers, I didn't spent much time fishing them either, but small size 12 mini leeches (yes with the too long tail) were very successful, changing between black and olive throughout the day, caught some nice sized fish in the 18"to 20" range, all were very healthy most were donaldsons but I did catch a couple of the larger rainbow plants the state put in last year which was fairly suprising I really didn't think any of those would survive and even those were looking very good, no skinny bighead trout at all, very nice.
