I was browsing through my copy of Steve Raymond's Yakima River Journal and read about the "Vanport
Flood" during Memorial Day weekend 1948. All the Columbia River tributaries were at flood stage due to heavy rains and large snowpack in the Cascades.
The Yakima River was measured at 37,700 cfs. at the Sunnyside diversion dam. Wow!
Consider that 4,000 cfs. is considered high water now. I found this interesting and thought I'd share with
    the forum.
    Cheers,
    Fred
