This is one of those threads where the pics really are worth more than 1000 words.
Maybe we should come up with some kind of helpful rhyming phrase to remind folks of the correct course of action.
If the tail is white, get outta sight.
When the fins are tattered, any glory's shattered.
If the fin rays are pokin', it ain't worth smokin'.
Don't bother eatin' a fish that's taken a beatin'.
Big head, skinny body, it'll eat pretty shoddy.
Those look like they came pre-bonked.
If it ain't chrome it don't go home.
If it's squirting cream, it goes back in the stream.
If it looks like my liver, I throw it back in the river.
