Awesome set of flies everyone. I will take a close look tonight with the magnifier so I can tie them myself.

Thanks for all the great flies

Yeah! Finally some love! I love the ties and can't wait to give them a try. I will say the stillwater dude in me could not help but love Nick's maroon leach (yes I used leach versus leech, just to mess with someone), but those nymphs of all are sure to produce as well.

    Nice ties.

I cant remember who tied that purpleish leech but I caught a couple nice fish this weekend on it. Someone claim it cuz I dont remember and I want to know what material you used for the body. Im diggin that color almost a redish purple. Killed it on the water. All top nose hooks just the way I like em!

I believe that you are referring to mine, Thomas. If so, the body is just picked/brushed out simi seal dubbing in a dubbing loop. Arizona brand I wanna say, but I'm too lazy to get up and look at the moment. lol

I'm glad to hear it treated you well. That is my absolute hands down stand by stillwater pattern. I tie it on curved nymph hooks with no weight/bead and fish it on an intermediate. I also tie it on scud hooks with tungsten bead, but since I've started using the jig hooks I've gone away from that.

When you yet a chance can you tell me the brand and color. I have arizone blood leech color but yours is more of a purple. I just ordered a shit ton of jig hooks from allen from size 8 to 16. I have been so happy with the ratio of fish I land compared to normal hooks it awesome. What's great is you get them securely right in the nose and upper jaw. They have a real hard time shaking the hook. Love it. The leeches also get a real nice up and down type of movement which I think draws strikes.

Today I caught several nice trout on Nick Clayton's orange bead head fly with rabbit strip tail. Sadly the fly was sacrificed to the fish gods, snagged on the bottom. It sure was doing the business before that! Thanks Nick.

I landed a few big trout in a lake using Ira's jig fly with legs.... then he told me he used that fly for Steelhead. Whoops. I guess it works under an indicator in lakes also.

Stillwater bugs in moving water and river bugs in the lake. If it looks like food they eat it.

When I found out Jeff was fishing that nymph I laughed until he landed his first steelhead sized trout on it, no more laughing, just bummed I didn't have anymore in my box.

Are there pics for this swap yet?
