Crab spawn?

    Trout slashing around tonight, after long stair into water column I see little translucent poly wog things with a black dot center, going in all different directions, what were they? Any effective patterns?

    thanks dip net, I reviewed the thread and the picture of stomach contents is what I saw.
    I was surprised at the numbers 15 or more per cubic foot of water each blasting along at flow rate. I came across this thread in the past and was left with the impression of near shore feeding.
    Now I see more clearly the phenomenon is more like a Bird flying through a snow storm, the trout being the Bird in this example.
    I can't imagine an imitative fly being particularly effective due to the number of targets available, the thread posted no results regarding the developed pattern, I can tell you almost no interest in any of my casts last night.
